MSL, who originally broke the news several months ago that Izzy Stradlin would not be participating in Guns N’ Roses’ reunion due to financial disagreements, has shared more insight on Stradlin on GNRTruth.
“I don’t think they would trust Izzy to play a 2.5 hour show around the world for 2-3 years and even if they did, Richard already had the spot.
And even if Richard didn’t have the spot, the loot isn’t being split equally among Axl/Slash/Duff, so why would Axl want to have to split it equally with Axl/Slash/Duff/Izzy?
GNRtruth’s position has been clear since day one and we took a lot of flack for reporting the falling out was over money and again we’ve been vindicated.
But Izzy’s tweet is misleading IMO as he was in rehearsals to do a guest spot and equal pay was never being discussed. It was just a question of what he would get per gig for his guest spots and the two sides ended up being very far apart on money.”
Izzy Stradlin recently responded to his former Guns N’ Roses bandmate Axl Rose’s claims about why he isn’t involved in the band’s reunion.
Stradlin tweeted, “Bullshit They didn’t want to split the loot equally . Simple as that . Moving right along……..”
Axl Rose recently told Globo, “Steven did join us. At the same time I have no idea, when this started Steven had just had back surgery. So I don’t have any idea about that. With Izzy, it’s something I can’t really describe. I don’t really know what to say about Izzy. You could have a conversation and think it’s one way, then the next day, it’s another way. So I’m not trying to take any shots at Izzy, but his thing is his thing. Whatever that is.”
Stradlin’s tweet proves months of rumors that the reason why he isn’t involved in the Guns N’ Roses reunion is due to a financial offer that wasn’t comparable to Slash and Duff McKagan’s offers.
Guns N’ Roses grossed a whopping $116.8 million during the North American leg of its Not in This Lifetime… Tour that hit the road for nine weeks this summer. The act leads the latest slate of Hot Tours (see list, below).
GNR’s North American tour kicked off on June 23 and included a total of 21 stadiums, wrapping on Aug. 22. The nine-week jaunt was attended by more than one million fans at 25 performances. The tour heads to Latin America next with concerts booked in 11 cities during the fall, and then Asian and Australian dates are on tap for early next year.

The tour reunits Guns N’ Roses members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, who -- before this year -- hadn’t played a show together since 1993.
The tour came on the heels of a brief run of shows in the spring that included a surprise warm-up gig at Los Angeles nightclub The Troubadour on April 1. The first scheduled shows, a two-night stand at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, followed on April 8 and 9. Ticket sales totaled $6.2 million based on 28,849 sold seats at the new Vegas venue. Also during April, GNR headlined both weekends of the Coachella Music Festival and played two shows at the Mexico City stadium, Foro Sol.
Four of the stadiums during the summer run hosted the band for two performances -- Chicago’s Soldier Field, Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and L.A.'s Dodger Stadium. The New York City market produced the top box office counts with ticket sales reaching $11.6 million at MetLife Stadium from 100,177 fans at two concerts. The other three stadiums each topped the $8 million mark in revenue from their two-show stints.
